New Blog

Welcome to the new blog for University Congregational Church in Wichita, Kansas.  We are a progressive, Christian congregation where head and heart are equal partners in faith.  Rev. Dr. Robin McGonigle is our Senior Minister, and I, Paul Jackson, am the Director of Christian Life.  We've begun this blog as a way for the two of us to further explore some of the discussions and musings that we are encountering during our week here at UCC.  For instance, last night, while teaching a class on John Dominic Crossan's book "The Greatest Prayer", the class got into a discussion on Jesus's actual crime.  Was Jesus executed because he had ticked off the prevailing religious authorities or his time (the Jewish authorities) or was the riot at the temple (over-turning the tables) an opportunity for Herod Antipas to finally show Rome what he could do?  Any thoughts?
